"Лексика и грамматика в картинках" является частью учебного комплекса TARGET. В словаре содержится около 1200 самых употребительных слов. Эти слова специально отобраны по частотным словарям, материалам специальных исследований как самые употребимые в современном английском языке. Слова распределены по лексическим темам.
Технология использования словаря проста:
- сначала посмотри на картинку и догадайся о значении слова (слово должно запоминаться в прямой связи с его образом, исключая русский язык, как посредник),
- затем подтверди догадку по словарной статье.
В словарных статьях слово дается в трех видах. Первый - английское слово с траскрипцией, второй - в словосочетании или примере, третье - перевод. Главная задача этого словаря - сформировать образ изучаемого слова в вашем сознании без русского перевода - ненадежного посредника. В словаре сделано все, чтобы изучение слов стало для вас легким, приятным занятием и происходило максимально быстро.

Vocabulary & Spelling presents thirty-two lessons that cover a broad range of topics from etymology to context clues to spelling patterns. It is essential that vocabulary instructions include a variety of strategies to develop students' word-study skills.
Lessons in Vocabulary & Spelling provide many different ways of exploring and studying words, word parts, semantic families, and spelling patterns and rules. Activating students' prior knowledge of words and of essential concepts related to words helps students make associations between new terms and words they already know.
The activities in Vocabulary & Spelling will help teachers to actively engage students in working with words. As their curiosity about word exploration grows, students will become increasingly confident in their ability to attack, learn, and experiment with new words.
